Research On Adaptive Landscape Design For The Elderly In Riverside Park In Miyi County

Aging is a trend in our society today.A lot of social problems have come up with increased aging.For our profession,in older to solve this problem,we need to create a suitable environment for the senior citizen.The city park is now an active place for many older people.So,it is necessary to create a confortable space for them in city park.This article takes riverside Park in Miyi County of Panzhihua City as an subject investigated,based on the theories of environmental psychology and behavior,use the POE to analysis and summarized the basicfeatures of public space which used for the elderly.So as to judge whether it is suitable for the senior citizen.At first,i divided the riverside park into four areas and evaluate each of them.Then,I carry on the questionnaire survey for the aged people in the park.At last,I asked them some questions to learn how they think to the park.Based on above investigations,I summed up the advantages and disadvantages of the park.Miyi riverside park has advantages of convenient location,convenient transportation and strong accessibility.It has many advantages,such as rich plant arrangement,bright colors,rich ground pavement and strong guidance.But there are still deficiencies in the form of space,infrastructure,site safety,cultural characteristics,walking space,management system,and lack of consideration for the physical factors of the senior citizen.To solve the above problems,i put forward a few opinions to solve these prombles and make it a better place to serving the senior citizen.
