The Influence Of Land Art On Landscape Design

Land art is a visual art that takes the land as the main body and things in nature as its creative elements.Land art and landscape design have internal in common.Therefore,studies on the influence of land art on contemporary landscape design,which can provides an enlightment to the development of landscape design.In the article,the social and historical causes of the land art is firstly summarized,and social contradictions,ecology,and other factors influenced on land art are described,then multiple art trends effected on land art are analysed.Secondly,land art can be divided into three stages via analyzing the characteristicses of land art in each period.By analyzing the artists and their corresponding works at different stages,the characteristicses of each stage are summarized.Landscape design have in essentially common with land art,which are compared from the aspects of natural factors,time factors and formal factors,exploring their unique properties influenced and enlightened by land art.Thirdly,the practical applications in contemporary sculpture design,industrial relics design,and rural landscape design guided by land art were researched.Finally,the graduation design practice was completed on the basis of research on land art.Land art can provides a new developing idea in shaping abstract terrain,establishing contact with the public,expressing metaphorical thoughts,highlighting regional and humanistic aspects of places.
