Dry type power transformer is widely applied due to its advantages:fireproofing, innocuity and non-maintenance and so on.So in order to improve the technical and economic performance of dry type transformer, reasonable structure design has become dry type transformer manufacturers technical problems to be solved. Therefore, improving insulation capacity of dry type transformer and carrying on the reasonable design of insulation become the primary tasks of the dry type transformer designs. It will not only improve the voltage grade and capacity of the transformer, but also increase the economy of the transformer. Therefore, the paper calculated and analyzed main insulation and longitudinal insulation of the transformer. As for the calculation of the main insulation electric field,The paper establishes four kinds of electric field analysis models for the ANSYS software:two dimensional end section models,on the basis of understanding the insulation structure of SCB-630/10 dry type transformer.SCB-630/10 dry type transformer is chosen as a concrete analysis object in this thesis. The modeling, computation and field display are completed by the ANSYS.For the longitudinal insulation,it mainly conducted the calculation of over-voltage.Under the action of the lightning, during the calculations,we established the simplified winding model and the equivalent circuit, reasonably determined the inductance, capacitance, and other parameters, and carried on the computation of wave process. Thus we respectively obtained the electric potential distribution and the electric potential gradient distribution of high and low voltage windings of SCB-630/10 dry type transformer under the action of full wave and the truncation wave of the SCB-630/10 dry type transformer.
