In recent years,China has developed rapidly in the aviation industry,and a lot of money has been invested in the development of aviation engines and related aviation materials.As a kind of non-contact processing method,the EDM machining technology has incomparable advantages in the processing of high strength and high hardness materials.However,the low efficiency of EDM technology and the tool electrode wear seriously impede its development.The EDM and Arc efficiency compound machining technology solves the problem of low processing efficiency of EDM.Compared with the ordinary EDM,machining efficiency improved several times with the new method.The processing efficiency of some materials has caught up with the traditional way of machining.But it has lots of disadvantages,low degree of automation and the defects of the electrode loss.A process parameter database and man-machine interface are established which is based on the composite processing technology of EDM and Arc machining technology in this paper.It has improved the degree of automation;Analysis of the influence of machining parameters on machining performance of database,improves the accuracy of user on the processing parameters of electrode loss compensation technology;Online database technology based on the improved machining accuracy of workpiece.Based on the EDM and Arc composite processing technology principle a lot of experiments were carried out and more than two thousand groups of data were obtained.Some researches about the effect of different processing parameters were done.The effects of current,pulse width,pulse,spindle speed and tool electrode diameter on the machining efficiency,the surface roughness of the workpiece and the relative electrode loss rate of the tool electrode obtained.The effects of several common materials under the same parameters are analyzed.The optimal machining parameters are obtained with the analysis.The process database is developed with the experimental data which based on the SQL Server.The dates in the process database including the most process parameters which be used in machining and the machining efficiency of different parameters,surface roughness of the workpiece,the electrode wear rate of tool electrode.In order to improve the efficiency of the use of the database,man machine interface of process database management system have been developed.Login interface,the main interface,the data query window,the data add and delete window,the electrode length calculation window and help window were included in this system.A new on-line electrode compensation method has been presented which based on the process database.The mathematical model of machining path length is established.After obtaining the compensation amount of the machining path,the on-line compensation of the electrode is carried out by using the PMAC motion controller and the main control program of the machine tool.Experiments were done with this method,and the quality of workpiece is better.
