How to satisfy users’ emotional needs and convey a product’s emotion on the perspective of reflection to arouse sympathy among the users has always been an emphasis of emotionalized design research.This trend of research shows an inclination towards endowing products with emotions.There are a lot of theoretical research and design practices in the academic circle,which indirectly verifies the popularity and importance of emotionalized design.However,this type of research still cannot jump out of the original theoretical framework,which makes it difficult to get rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh.Emotionalized design has been able to rally multitudes at just one call and has rarely been doubted,which is actually a dangerous signal in academic research.Under the background of intellectualized development,products’ emotionalized expression and design trend manifest different changes,and a primary characteristic lies in that products’ emotionalized expression has caused a lot of troubles to our external life.We have an increasingly strong feeling that even though a product’s emotionalized expression can influence us on multiple layers,we are gradually drifting away from the real emotional world.Because of this change,we need to transform our train of thought in research and cope with new challenges with a new method of design research.This paper doesn’t plan to excessively describe or elaborate emotional design.On the contrary,this paper holds certain rational criticism and reflection towards this.Firstly,the background and trend of intellectualized development is specifically expounded in this paper,which aims at demonstrating the practical influence that this trend has on us through the research of the correlation between artificial intelligence and human beings.Next,the essential connotation of design and products is analyzed by taking products as the starting point.From the theoretical perspective of communication and media,the product is interpreted through a new way.It is concluded that the product,which is an objective entity,is not completely a result of design,and its own influence is an existence that transcends design and function and should not be neglected.Through the analysis of the current situation and trend of product design under the intellectualized background,the concept of product’s emotional load is introduced.Furthermore,emotion is analyzed and summarized through the perspective of multiple disciplines,such as biology,psychology and sociology,and the theory of emotional hierarchy and the three different hierarchies of emotionalized design are analyzed accordingly.Thus,product and emotions can be integrated for a comprehensive analysis,which specifically demonstrates the correlation between the product and emotion,and creates condition for the proposal of the theory of product’s emotional overload.Product’s emotional overload is reflection on emotionalized design and a state after product’s emotional load reaches a reasonable critical value.It refers to the imbalance of users’ emotional feedback triggered by the “inappropriate” emotionalized expression,which is reflected in difficulties confronting a product during the coordination of the relationship between human beings and the real emotional world.The causes and influence of product’s emotional overload are specifically elaborated in this paper,in which,it is also pointed out that it exerts influence on various aspects,such as mode of thinking,behavioral pattern and social ecology,etc.Furthermore,the theoretical method of defining product’s emotional overload is proposed on this basis,which is mainly analyzed and summarized through the product’s technological correlation,interaction and “TBS” emotional model.In the end,questions that exist in product design under the intellectualized background are comprehensively reflectedDesign research of product’s emotional overload under the intellectualized background proposes moderate design of emotions,which is not only conceptual reflection,but also a question that’s raised incisively towards the practical state.It is hoped that the inherent thinking can be broken through for new exploration,and an attempt can be made to establish a real emotional world through product design. |
