Marine water lubricated bearings with environment-friendly advantages are widely used in vessels.However,the lubrication conditions of the water lubricated bearings under the low-speed and heavy-load are so poor that vibration and noise is produced,and its further development and application is restricted.To solve the above problems,finite element simulation and experimental research are both used in this paper to find the effect of the shape,dimension,location and working condition on the texture water lubricated bearings including cooling performance,bearing capacity,friction coefficient and vibration performance,which can provide theoretical support for the engineering application of surface texture in water lubricated bearings.The research work and results are as follows:(1)The surface texture model of bearing linings with different structures,size and area ratio are established in ANSYS Workbench to analyze their natural frequency and modal shape.Calculation results show that these textures can improve the natural frequency of bearing linings beyond the natural frequency range of shape shafting system,which reduce the probability of resonance occurrence with low-frequency vibration sources like ship shafting.(2)The CFD model of water film with different parameters on the water lubricated stern bearing are established in Fluent.During modeling,Computational precision is improved by densified grid and used the interface mode as the adhesion mode on the surface between water film and convex to transfer heat and pressure.Calculation results show that the performance of improved bearing is better on cooling performance,load capacity and friction.The size of surface texture has a biggest effect on lubricant performance,the structure has less influences while the area ratio of surface texture make no difference.The influence of structure parameters on above three performance tests shows a same trend that with the diameter of circular texture increased,every performance improved.(3)During the friction test and vibration test,the experimental object is a half bearing and the pressure is loaded from top to bottom in the radial direction.Parameters of bearing bush are same in the computation modeling procedure and select the circular texture as the experimental sample.Experimental results show that the variation law of the friction coefficient of the texture bearing is the same as non-texture bearing with the speed,pressure and temperature changing.The performance of the texture bearing reached best performance when the density is 0.4.Compared with non-texture bearing,surface texture bearings’ vibration amplitude is smaller which can reduce the energy loss.
