Mirrored milling equipment with follow-up support,online measurement of wall thickness,machining error compensation and other functions in one,is the latest technology and development trend of panel parts machining process.A special demand is presented by Mirrored milling special equipment and process characteristics of the machining tool,at the same time the continuous requirements of toolpath curvature increase the difficulty of toolpath generation.In view of above problems,the mirror milling toolpath generation method of the panel parts is researched in this paper.The main innovations are as follows:(1)The method to establish the toolpath constraints relationship of the mirror milling equipment is studied.According to the dynamic characteristics of the mirror milling equipment and the coupling of characteristics to the toolpath constraints,the relationship between dynamic and processing characteristics and toolpath constraints is established,then the coupling relationship between two constraints is studied,which laid the foundation for mirror milling toolpath generation.(2)A toolpath generation strategy based on region division for mirror milling with complex subsidence features is proposed.In the case of problem that it is difficult to meet the constraints requirement of no-residue,no-crossing,step-distance as well as no tool lifting requirements of complex subsidence characteristics,the toolpath generation strategy is presented based on whether a subsidence feature can adopt a unified pass mode,and rules of regional division and toolpath connection between the different regions are given.The toolpath generation with no-residue,no-crossing,step-distance as well as no tool lifting requirements is realized.(3)A continuous mirror milling tool path planning method without residual of complex subsidence features is proposed.In the case of the problem that it is difficult to meet the dynamic characteristics and no-residual requirement at the same time,a clothoid toolpath is generated based on the generation of sub-regional strategy toolpath,then residual area is eliminated by adjusting the parameter of the clothoid toolpath.The toolpath generation which can ensure the continuity of the curvature and no-residual of mirror milling is realized.(4)Based on the above research results,the tool-path generation system of mirror-milled wall parts was developed and verified by the examples of the skin parts.
