Applying waste glass or glass beads in asphalt mixture instead of mineral aggregate is an important way to solve environmental pollution.However,the glass aggregate mixed in common thermoplastic asphalt mixture may inevitably result in significant pavement performance degradation due to its poor adhesion with binder.Therefore,most researchers suggest that the glass aggregate content of the conventional asphalt mixture is generally limited below 15%,and anti-stripping agents need to be added to enhance adhesion with binder.In this paper,epoxy asphalt binder was adopted to prepare glass asphalt mixture.First,three kinds of glass beads aggregate content of 16%,20% and 26% were designed to replace equivalent mineral aggregate of a kind of continuous dense graded AC-13 mixture.At the same time,this paper set a control group mixture without glass,and comparing with the same glass content of SBS modified asphalt mixture.The optimum asphalt contents(OAC)of the epoxy asphalt and SBS modified asphalt mixture blended with glass beads were obtained through the Marshall tests.And then,the road engineering performances were studied.The results show that glass beads have better applicability in epoxy asphalt pavement.Second,Experiments were carried out to examine the performances of epoxy asphalt mixture blended with waste glass aggregate content of 0%,16%,26% and 50%,substituting the equivalent quality and the same size of mineral aggregate.And then some experiments were compared with SBS modified asphalt mixture.The essential difference of adhesion between glass materials and epoxy asphalt and SBS modified asphalt is also revealed.The results show that the content of waste glass aggregate can be increased to 50% by using epoxy asphalt mixture.Finally,the principle and influence factors of epoxy asphalt mixture mixed with glass aggregate were analyzed.And the reflective properties of epoxy asphalt mixture with glass beads and waste glass aggregate were analyzed and compared by qualitative and quantitative methods,named as car headlight irradiation test,MATLAB image calculation and reverse reflection coefficient measurement.The paper concludes that adding glass aggregate to epoxy asphalt mixture has good reflective performance,and will not produce adverse reactions like glare.The research has reference value for the design of reflective asphalt pavement.
