Research Of Digital Interface Layout And Navigation Design Based On Mental Model

With the rapid development of information technology and great wealth of people's material and spiritual life,user's demand for complex information system become more and more complicated.Compared with the services provided by the system,users expect system fit them with their characteristics more.As a kind of interaction of the complex information system,digital interface should provide more effective support to reduce users learning costs and create better user experience by matching interface performance and user mental model.User experience is a subjective feeling set up in the the process of interaction of user and the product,involving the Psychology,Ergonomics,Aesthetics,etc.The mental model is a tool which designed to explore user needs and user experience design.This paper based on the theory of mental models in securities analysis system which is a typical complex information system,exploring the information block layout and navigation in the interface.Firstly,the paper sorts out the record and evaluation method of mental model in design field,then puts forward the matching point of digital interface layout and navigation design factor and user mental model,and then record and characterize explicit mental model of the system by user research.Secondly,in layout design,according to the requirements of user research and explicit mental model,this paper came up with the point of interface module analysis and interface structure design strategy and then explored the user visual process of interface layout by designing experiment of visual browsing behavior to raise the key points of layout design for optimizing visual process.In navigation design,based on the user requirements and explicit mental model,information architecture vocabulary are raised.Then concept map information architecture experiment was and card classification mental model experiment were carried to explore the connection between each node of information architecture.After that,information architecture design was completed and navigation form evaluation experiment was carried to propose a navigation design strategy that conforms to the user's mental model.Finally,based on the layout and navigation design strategy,securities analysis system interface design were completed,and usability testing was carried to test the search performance and subjective satisfaction.The results showed that both of the two indicators l are superior to the existing original interface.The results showed that layout and navigation design following user's mental model can effectively help users understand interface.Therefore,user explicit and implicit demand analysis and user mental model acquisition and construction are the crucial steps in interface design and development process before interface design.
