The development of car pedestrian protection performance has become an important research content of automobile development and design.Aim at the the pedestrian protection study of the pedestrian head impact automobile PVB windshield. It is a common problem in the industry that how to accurately predict the dynamic mechanical response of simulated collision process,on the basis of the test and simulation, the pedestrian protection performance of the car is improved by the design optimization of the structure and material. In this paper, the mechanical properties of each layer of PVB laminated glass were tested and analyzed. The fracture principle and crack propagation law of PVB laminated glass in real vehicle impact test were studied.Combined with LS-DYNA simulation analysis and real vehicle test,The pedestrian head and the PVB windshield collision process. The basic mechanical parameters required for the simulation were obtained by tensile test under glass and PVB film specimens under quasi-static conditions, and the deformation of the materials was measured by DIC method.Taking the method of real vehicle test, combined with the reasonable arrangement of high speed camera and sensor, the effective collection relevant data, system analysis of the windshield fracture principle and crack propagation law.Based on Hypermesh software, the finite element model of pedestrian head impact PVB windshield was established. The optimal solution model was selected by using different modeling methods. The model was validated under E-NCAP test condition performance. This paper systematically analyzed the influence of the mechanical and structural parameters of the windshield glass on the head injury of the pedestrian, and put forward an optimization method which can effectively improve the pedestrian protection performance of the accident. In this paper, showed that the * MAT24 material model in the LS-DYNA material library was used to simulate the glass layer material. The * MAT98 material model simulates the PVB layer material. The simulation results showed that the crack propagation process was similar to the experimental data, and the correlation curve is consistent. The established finite element model can provide reference for the engineering development and theoretical research of pedestrian protection performance.
