In recent years,the electricity was consumed too much in China and a large number of electrical fires occurred.And the proportion of the fire caused by the electrical causes has been high.Though the research on the arc fault started late,more reliable arc fault circuit breakers have been produced after more than ten years of development.However the error rate of the algorithm and the sensitivity of the device in the algorithm still need to be improved.Firstly,it build the arc fault platform according to the standards of UL1699,simulating the various of loads(including capacitive,resistive and inductive load)that are in arc fault and collecting a lot of arc fault data(including load terminal voltage,loop current,arc voltage).Secondly,the arc fault detection methods are analyzed,including Fourier,wavelet analysis and so on.Based on the analysis of these methods,the arc fault identification method based on EEMD algorithm is proposed,and the algorithm is verified by the arc fault data repeatedly.In addition,the current fault arc detection algorithms are mostly based on the current changes,but the use of current detection arc fault has a great limitation.It is found that the terminal voltage of various loads under normal operating conditions is the basic standard sin wave,and distortion failure will occur to some extent.This paper puts forward a periodic identification based on the entrance voltage to detect arc fault.The algorithm is verified by the normal operation of various loads and the running state of the arc fault.In the end,an MCU-based arc fault detection device is proposed.The device is divided into two parts of hardware and software.The design and introduction of the device are introduced in detail in this paper.After the experiment,the device can accurately identify most of the arc fault.Finally,the paper summarizes all the work of the project,and puts forward some suggestions on the improvement of the device and the algorithm.
