Screw pump is simple in structure,stable and high efficient in operating,and safe and reliable in working.With its increasingly widespread application,the screw pump had been put forward higher requirements to design and manufacture,especially the vibration and noise reduction of it.Aiming at the noise problem of the screw pump,this paper reduced vibration acceleration of the screw pump and the sound pressure within the pump house by changing the structure of the connecting frame and the application of the damping alloy with combining the finite element method and experimental tests.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly,the geometry model and the finite element model of the screw pump were established to calculate its modal analysis using the finite element software--Patran&Nastran.Besides,a corresponding modal test was designed to confirm the accuracy and reliability of the finite element model.Secondly,the dynamic analysis of the screw pump was made to calculate the frequency response of the vibration acceleration of given nodes under the periodic load generated by the motor.Then,The dynamic response of given nodes was analyzed by using the finite element method,when the Cu-Mn damping alloy had been used in different parts of the connecting frame,getting the maximum values of vibration acceleration curves of nodes in the same place under each scheme and the best scheme was found.Furthermore,the new structure of the connecting frame was designed based on the manufacturing process and cost considerations.After verification,the maximum value of vibration acceleration of corresponding nodes of the new connecting frame with the damping alloy was reduced to 45.2% compared to the original one.Thirdly,drawed the sound pressure nephogram within the pump house according to the noise analysis of the screw pump model which were before and after transformation.The comparative results showed that compared to the one previous,the one after transformation made the sound pressure within the pump house drastically reduced.The result illustrated that way reducing vibration of the screw pump by changing its structure and material with the damping alloy had an obvious effect.Fourthly,study the influence on the noise within the pump house with different relative positions of the new screw pump and the pump house.The results showed that the noise generated in the pump house wound be much lower when the screw pump runs in the middle of the pump house other than running against the wall.This study provided data support for future research on the problems of pump houses.
