The design and optimization of economical route is the key technique of the achievement of Ship intelligent navigation,also an important means of ensuring the economy and safety of ship sailing.In recent years,along with the presentation and development of intelligent ship,many nations are engaged in the research of intelligent ship,intelligent ship has already been the inexorable trend of the development of shipping industry around the world.According to the requirements of “Made in China 2025",Intelligent ship technique is being developed in our country,for this propose,Rules for Intelligent ships is authorized by China Classification Society,which sets forth the basic function of intelligent navigation module is the design of safe and economical navigation routes for ships.Therefore,the design and optimization of economical navigation route has important significance to the driving of development of intelligent ship and the promotion of the economic and safety of ship sailing.The response process between the speed as well as the oil consumption of the diesel engine and the navigation environment is analyzed;the Operational performance prediction model of the ship is established;the economical navigation routes are designed using the method of dynamic programming to improve the current design methods of economical navigation routes;and simulation works is done;The main research content of this paper are as follows :(1)A relative concise modeling method of Operational performance prediction model has been proposed;Considering the navigation environment factors,the ship speed loss prediction model and the oil consumption prediction model of the diesel engine has been established using the theory of ship propeller matching.The Operational performance prediction model is achieved by combining the two models above.The effectiveness of the model is been verified by using the data of two voyages.The research findings suggest:(1)the maximum and average error between the speed value and the predicted speed value is 8.87% and 4.46%.(2)the maximum and average error between the oil consumption per n mile value and the oil consumption per n mile value is 6.36% and 3.46%.The results show that the speed value and the oil consumption of the diesel engine can be predicted accurately by using the Operational performance prediction model,which can be applied to the analysis of economic routes for ships.(2)Economical routes design methods of ships are studied.A Regionalized discretization method has been proposed;the calculation methods of the weather data and the sea state data of the navigation area has been improved on the basis of the method above;the economical route design model has been established using the dynamic programming algorithm and the solution methods is been given;(3)two different routes are chosen as the subjects,the energy consumptions of the ship under different seasons are analyzed;The research findings suggest:(1)compared to the method of 3DDP(three-dimensional dynamic programming),more oil could be saved by using this improved method;(2)the ratio of oil saving achieved by using the improved method is higher along with the worse navigation environment of the route.
