With the development of offshore oil and gas exploitation advancing,the offshore platform is becoming increasingly comprehensive,which leads to higher cost and construction difficulty.As international oil price stays low,how to improve the efficiency of platform construction and reduce the weight of the superstructure has become the focus of offshore oil researchers.Corrugated plates of trapezoidal cross-section are used in the partitions and enclosures of living quarter on offshore platforms.In order to optimize the structure of the upper block,taking into account the strength contribution of the corrugated plates in design and check of platforms,and taking advantage of light weight,hard-to-bulk and other excellent performance,it is necessary to further study the mechanical properties of the corrugated plates.In this paper,the ultimate bearing capacity of corrugated plates under shear and compression is studied respectively by nonlinear finite element analysis.First,the model test of corrugated plates shearing is designed and carried out.The same numerical model as model test is built in ANSYS,and the ultimate bearing capacity and failure mode of both are compared.By using previously published experimental data,corrugated plates under compression are also compared.The validity of the nonlinear numerical simulation method is verified by the model test.Then,the elastic-buckling numerical models of corrugated plates under shear are built.In the common geometric range of corrugated plates,a practical calculation formula of the elastic critical load of the corrugated plates under shear is obtained through the buckling modal analysis and curve fitting.Material nonlinearity and geometric nonlinearity are added into the numerical model,and arc length method is used for nonlinear calculation.By introducing the concept of relative aspect ratio,a practical calculation formula of the ultimate bearing capacity of corrugated plates is obtained by curve fitting.For the ultimate bearing capacity of corrugated plates under compression,numerical models of the corrugated plates under compression are built.A practical calculation formula of the ultimate bearing capacity of corrugated plates is obtained by using similar methods to that under shear.For living quarters in actual project,the calculation formula for bearing capacity of shear and compression obtained by study of this paper can be used to calculate the bearing capacity more conveniently and to improve work efficiency.
