The transmission link of spatial information network has the characteristics of long propagation delay, high bit error rate and frequent interruption compared with ground network. In addition, with the development of space technology, the increase of the number of satellite nodes and the demand for network services, the network scale of spatial information network is becoming larger. The existing researches show that it is difficult for the mature ground network technology to play its role if it is directly applied to the spatial information network. So it is urgent to establish a real and credible simulation experimental environment for the test verification and evaluation of spatial information network, link simulation is the key technology involved in such environment construction.Link simulator is also widely used in the construction of some simulation environments. After decades of development, link simulators have reached a certain maturity. However, there are still some deficiencies in the direct application of link simulators to spatial information network. Therefore,it is necessary to design a link simulator which can be better applied to spatial information network. This paper designs a link simulator which can be used in spatial information network. The link simulator is mainly divided into three modules:link simulation module, bandwidth allocation module and bandwidth extension module.Through the improvement of Traffic Control(TC)and iptables, the link simulation module realizes the simulation of multi-link parameters in the spatial information network on the basis that the TC can only simulate the link parameters of a single link. The bandwidth allocation module uses the technology of Software Defined Networking(SDN)to realize the reasonable bandwidth allocation of the link simulator, and effectively increases the number of links supported by the link simulator. On the basis of limited maximum bandwidth of the original single link, the bandwidth expansion module realizes the maximum bandwidth expansion that can be supported by the link simulator through link aggregation and SDN group table technology, which provides a guarantee for the application of laser link in the spatial information network. After completing the above design, this paper builds a perfect simulation test environment and verifies the performance of the link simulator in detail. The experimental results show that the link simulator can be well applied to the spatial information network and accurately simulate the link characteristics of spatial information network.
