Direct current(DC)distribution and consumption system has the advantages of large power supply capacity,low line loss,easy access to distributed power sources,good power quality,higher operation efficiency,and no reactive power compensation problem.It can provide a safe,flexible and efficient power supply service,and has great development prospects.In this paper,the related technical problems of DC distribution and consumption in buildings are studied and analyzed.Firstly,problems of alternating current(AC)system and the advantages of DC system are discussed.The research status of DC distribution system at home and abroad is summarized.It shows that high voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission system has made great technological breakthroughs.DChas been gradually applied in medium and low voltage,which has been carried out in medium voltage system.At present,the characteristics of electrical equipment have been changed,and characteristics of DC electrical equipment has become more popular.Obviously,as a connection between distribution and consumption,building DC distribution system has a good prospect and plays an important role in future application.Secondly,the voltage grade of DC distribution system in buildings are studied.According to the results,the main electrical connection scheme and grounding system types are analyzed,especially,the personal protection against electric shock of TN system are studied.Finally,taking an existing architectural engineering design as a blueprint,the original design of AC distribution system is replaced by DC distribution system design,and the differences between AC and DC distribution and the impact on building electrical are compared and analyzed.With the joint participation and efforts of whole chains including power companies,equipment manufacturers,architectural design institutes and users,it should be worthy of promotion and application of DC distribution and consumption in civil buildings.
