Nowadays, the rapid development of the power system transmission network puts forward higher requirements on the stability of its operation.Finding faults in the transmission network in a timely manner and taking effective countermeasures are necessary conditions for ensuring stable power supply, and thus safeguarding and securing the national power system play an important role. After researching the current main power system fault diagnosis methods, based on Rough Sets(RS)and Genetic Algorithm(GA),this paper proposes a more efficient and accurate fault diagnosis of transmission lines in power systems.method.First of all,the RS protocol is studied.RS has strong data reduction ability, but it is not very good at dealing with extreme value problems.Based on this, the use of RS as a pre-emptive unit for power system fault diagnosis is explored, and the circuit breaker's action state decision table is reduced. The reduction results show that RS can streamline the action decision information without losing important attributes, laying the foundation for the next step solution.Secondly,on the basis of classical GA,the selection, crossover, and mutation operators were improved and tested using IEEE classical functions. The results show that the improved advanced GA has better search capability, and it has faster processing speed than algorithms such as particle swarm optimization and simulated annealing. Therefore, the use of GA as a follow-up solution for RS provides a new feasibility for power system fault diagnosis.Once again,a hierarchical fault diagnosis method based on RS-GA is proposed to optimize the power system fault diagnosis effect.Through the simulation example analysis, this method can reduce the interference caused by the randomness of the algorithm, and has higher speed and accuracy. It is more suitable for the practical application of power system transmission line fault diagnosis. Finally,a multi-objective optimization genetic algorithm based fault reconfiguration method for distribution network is proposed to reduce the power outage area generated within a certain recovery time after fault diagnosis. The reconstructed results show that this method has the advantages of minimum network loss and the minimum number of switching actions, and can ensure that the fault-free area is not disturbed and continues to supply power after a fault occurs. This method is a feasible method of fault reconstruction.
