Particle damping is a new kind of passive vibration control technology.Its main energy dissipation principle is filling regular or irregular shape of particles into the cavity of the structure or attached to the structure according to the volume ratio,which converted the kinetic energy into internal energy though the collision and friction between particles and particles or particles and cavity.It has been widely used as the features of simple structure,small changes to the original structure,reliable work,wide application range,low cost,obvious effect of vibration reduction,easy to operate and so on.In this paper,theoretical analysis,simulation and experimental research methods are used to study the effect of some factors on the vibration damper performance,and theoretical basis for the engineering application are provided.The main work includes the following aspects:(1)The static and mechanical properties of the particles and several simulation models for simulating the motion of particles were simply introduced.(2)The classical Hertzian contact theory was used for the theoretical analysis of collision process of the ball.The balls with different velocity and different volume were simulated by the finite element software LS-DYNA,and the simulation results were compared with the theoretical analysis.(3)A mechanical model was established for analyzing the press stress of the particle layers,which was used for analyzing the particle layers press stress of different size particle dampers,and the active degree of internal particles in different size dampers under the same excitation was qualitatively analyzed according this model.(4)A cantilever beam experiment table has been built.The properties of particles dampers with different velocities and different volume particles were studied by this experiment,and the active degree of internal particles in different size dampers was verified.So the theoretical analysis in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 were verified.(5)A new method was proposed to fit energy dissipation factor experience curve of the particle damper by combining design parameters on the basis of previous studies.The curve was fitted by this method and the change tendencies were analyzed.
