The performance of modern radar system in the measurement of target parameters and anti-jamming has been greatly enhanced,which poses a great threat to the viability of high-value targets on the battlefield,therefore the study of new jamming methods becomes an urgent need in the military field.As a new radar absorbing material,phase switched screen(PSS)can effectively reduce the radar cross section(RCS)of a target and achieve the target stealth.Considering that the complex modulation effect of PSS on the incident signal has some similarities with the modulation method in the active-relay interference,PSS can be applied to the interference domain.This paper studies the related theory and technology of the PSS from the following three aspects:Theoretical aspects: Firstly,the basic theory of PSS is studied,and the effects of modulation signal parameters and incident signal forms on the echo characteristics of PSS are analyzed in detail.From the perspective of transmission line equivalent circuit,the reflectivity of PSS in three states of active impedance layer,the characteristics of multilayer PSS,and the performance of PSS under oblique incidence of electromagnetic wave are analyzed.Simulation and testing aspects: Taking the HFSS electromagnetic software as a tool,we ananlyze the reflection performance of PSS when the electromagnetic wave is incident on the surface of PSS normally and obliquely.The influences of incident wave polarization and incident angle on PSS reflection performance are analyzed.The current research method can not solve the RCS of "dynamic" structure such as PSS,the PSS is a kind of topological structure based on the Salisbury screen(S-screen),and thus the backscattering performance of the S-screen and S-screen dihedral are analyzed in this paper,which may have some reference for the study of the scattering properties of PSS.Finally,a PSS sample which is based on the bowtie unit is designed and fabricated,and the theoretical analysis and simulation results are verified by the microwave chamber experiment.Effect analysis aspects: the effects of PSS echoes on the basic signal processing of radar are studied,including the effect of PSS echoes on matching filtering and the factors that affect the characteristics of false targets of PSS.The effect of PSS false targets on radar CFAR detection is analyzed emphatically.Subsequently,in the background of the radar is interfered by PSS,the jamming methods based on PSS are analyzed.The effect of PSS on radar angle measurement performance is studied,in the case of PSS is utilized to implement angle deception jamming.The influence of PSS on radar speed measurement performance is studied when the radar is searching and tracking a target respectively.It is found that the unique effect of PSS echoes on the radar system can be used to interfere with the radar,and the interference effect can be dynamically controlled in real time.This kind of novel jamming technology which adopts passive method is expected a very wide application foreground in electronic countermeasures.
