With the significant improvement of the overall technology of the world internal combustion engine,on the basis of maintaining the traditional superior performance of the internal combustion engine,there are new requirements of internal combustion engines: safety and comfort,energy conservation and emission reduction,high affordability,etc.Among them,the improvement of block performance is of great significance to the overall performance.Combined with the finite element analysis technology,the static strength analysis and modal analysis of diesel engine block can effectively reduce the research and development cost and shorten the development cycle.In this background,the project takes a six-cylinder diesel engine as the research object,using the finite element method to carry out the static strength analysis and modal analysis of the block.The project studies the static and dynamic characteristics of the block,and makes modest improvements to the block structure.Use Creo to complete the assembly and simplification of diesel engine block parts,the finite element model of the block is generated through Ansys Workbench,and the simulation analysis of static and dynamic characteristics is carried out.In the static strength analysis section,it is necessary to calculate and apply loads and constraints according to the actual working conditions of the diesel engine.The operating conditions are diesel preload conditions and one to six cylinder outbursts.Observing the displacement and stress cloud diagrams,it is found that the deformation around the connecting bolts of the cylinder head is the largest,and the stress concentration is likely to occur in the contact areas of various parts and crankcases.Through strength check,it is determined that the block structure design meets the strength requirements of the material.In the modal analysis section,the results of free-modal analysis and constrained modal analysis are taken into consideration.By analyzing the natural frequency and basic mode shape of each mode,the areas with insufficient block stiffness are mainly the body side walls and the crankcase.A structural improvement scheme for improving the stiffness of the block is proposed.It can be found that the improved scheme can effectively improve the overall stiffness of the block.
