Research On Elements Of Walking Physical Environment That Affect Walking Comfort In Urban Streets

As the natural right of human beings,Walking which is the most organic and traditional way to travel has inherent advantages in flexibility,accessibility,and travel costs.Under the current trend of low-carbon transportation development,the status of Walking in urban transportation is increasingly important With the development of the city and the more attention to walking construction,the basic construction of walking in the city is continuously improved.In the context of the gradual satisfaction of the basic instinctive needs such as "walking possibly" and "walking safety",people begin to pursue " walking with dignity ".compared with the original requirements on foot or the providing of the basic walking space,more and more people begin to pay close attention to building the walking comfort in mental and psychological.In the context of urban resource shortage,micro walking environment factors(such as landscape sketch,ground shop,street interface,etc.)can make the walking environment design more wise and careful compared with macroscopic factors(climate,economy,culture,etc.).With the continuous accumulation of urban development,urban construction renewal based on stock planning is becoming more and more popular.In this context,the study of walking environment that can influence walking comfort in urban streets has a certain theoretical and practical reference value.First of all,this paper reviews relevant researches at home and abroad to comprehend the academic research background.Combined with walking activity motivation and purpose,the walking activity was divided into three types: commuting form walking,life form walking and recreated form walking,At the same time,this paper summarized the mechanism of walking comfort that analyzed from the perspective of environmental psychology,into three stages: perception,cognition and feedback,and explores the elements of the street walking material environment which influence the walking comfort from the three levels of facilities,interface and pattern.Then based of these studies,this paper built the walking comfort quantitative model and index system of the physical environment factors which laid the foundation for the next further research.Secondly,this paper took Sha Street,Tuya Street and Zhongshansilu Street that are all in the main urban area of Chongqing as the research samples.The specific index data of the elements of the walking material environment were obtained through several field surveys.Meanwhile,a questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain the subjective evaluation data of walking activity and walking comfort.SPSS software was used to analyze the data of walking comfort and street material environment.By controlling the type variables of walking comfort,this paper explored the effects of walking material environment factors on the comfort of different types of,and the key influencing factors were extracted.When the studies were pooled,this paper found that different elements of walking material environment had different effects on walking comfort,the aspect of walking material environment which can show a strong influence on a certain kind of walking comfort was different The quality of walking material environment was the focal points of the walking comfort and the elements of walking material environment had a combination effect on walking comfort.In the end,based on the relevant academic accumulation and the empirical research of three streets which found that the influence between elements of walking material environment and walking comfort was different,paying more attention on the quality of walking environment,and still had combination effect,this paper put forward material environment optimization strategy of the urban street walking comfort from the aspects of difference control,fine optimization and sectional ascending,to provides practical significance for construction of comfortable city walking.
