| In Lomé,the development of green spaces,creation of gardens and public parks goes back to colonial times.At that time there were no green spaces which had exceeded 1000 m2(square meter)and the city of Lomé had about 1500 hectares.These green spaces that were inseparable from the city at the origin have not followed the spatial extension and have even disappeared.Thus,Lomé is characterized by an increasingly urbanized environment where the need for greenery and flowers is more and more felt(Radji,2010).The green spaces of the city of Lomé are made of public and private gardens,parks and street trees.In order to revalue Lomé’s green space,and also to permit the population to benefit,we have thought to study the green spaces of Lomé.Our study is focused on Lomé’s urban parks.And the title of our research is “Study of Humanized Design of Urban Parks in Lomé”.This study has been done by following some aspects of the general humanized design(principles,theories and definition).The definition of a park varies from country to country depending on its specific contexts.Each country has its criteria to create a park according to an international standard.Comparing to Europe,America or also Asia countries,Lomé’s urban parks are a small park with a various activity.We say Small Park in term of the size.The question is to know if: “it is easy for all Togolese to visit a park.And did the users of these parks find satisfaction according to their expectations? Are these parks quite managed to the taste of the public?” Those questions can help us understand the planning of Lomé’s urban parks and find the problems that people encounter while using the parks,by field investigation.The data of field investigation is acquired by using a questionnaire made by different questions which users will answer.Firstly,this thesis,will talk about the basic research theories and affirms the definition of urban park and humanity design.Then,we will classify the needs of people in urban parks all aged groups,and vulnerable group person.Through the studying of theories of humanized design of park facilities,the guidelines and the approaches that can direct the park design meeting the requirements of users will be summed up.Based on the theoretical study,a case study about Lomé’s urban parks is carried out and we will discuss the advantage and the inconvenient of Lomé’s urban parks then from there find a strategy about a better Humanized design of Lomé’s urban parks through some approaches which can give a briefly inspiration and guideline to urban park design and help reduce the unwell-used and low usage status of urban parks. |
