With the progress of scientific technology and the development of human society,the growing demand of navigation plays a increasingly important role in daily life.Nowadays the navigation based on road network have been fully developed,however there are not too much researches worked done on the particularly navigation system which aims at pedestrians-level navigation.Unlike traditional vehicle navigation,the pedestrians navigation needs specially generated sidewalk networks and customized navigation algorithms to satisfy the various demand of different people.Hence,the research work on pedestrian navigation exhibits broad application prospect.Based on the relevant research of the pedestrian navigation,this paper is aiming to develop a high-efficient and low-cost technique to collect data and contribute pedestrian networks,and to develop a convenient,accurate and available tailored pedestrian navigation system.This paper utilizes the Shenzhen University sidewalk network as a case study.We firstly collect sidewalk network data and present a pedestrian navigation model which based on multiple GPS traces and network attributes and then develop a tailored pedestrian navigation system.Next,we particularly add the tailored navigation function which focus on the disabled to the navigation system,the purpose of that is to satisfy the special demand of special people group.The system mainly consists of the following three aspects.Firstly,we collect the data of sidewalk network and build sidewalk network of Shenzhen University campus.Then we collect multiple GPS traces data along the sidewalks of Shenzhen University campus and generate the campus pedestrian sidewalks network with the progress of filtrating the data we collected.In the process of generating network,we divide the process to 3 steps which is pre-processing,filtrating significant points and building pedestrian network.Secondly,based on the sidewalk network of Shenzhen University campus,we develops a tailored navigation system basing on the network attributes.Locating on the WebGIS technology,we utilize the ArcGIS tools to manage bottom data and publishes web service,then implement a WebGIS system application within the B/S framework.And we utilize the network attributes to the achievement of navigation algorithm is about to realize tailored navigation.At last,we simulate the network data on the real space-time environment,and compare the precision and efficiency of the output results.It comes to a conclusion that the presented tailored navigation system is effective and efficient.Moreover,we also present the limitation and indicate future work.In conclusion,this paper presents a pedestrian network construction method based on the multiple GPS traces and tailored pedestrian navigation algorithm method based on the network attributes,and uses WebGIS and other related technologies.Finally,personalized pedestrian navigation system is implemented.Through the evaluation of the method and system application of the construction network,it demonstrates that the system can satisfy the needs of navigation of pedestrians and has strong application prospects.
