Nowadays,the demand for leisure walking is growing.It is of great significance to explore the spatial characteristics of urban park pathway to meet the needs of residents with different walking intensity and to improve residents’ health level.However,the current research on parks and pedestrians mainly focuses on the influence of the quality and maintenance status of pathway,lack of research on the effect of space design features of pathways on walking intensity metabolic equivalent.From the perspective of walking intensity,the purpose of this paper is to explore the connection between the spatial characteristics of the park and the walking intensity,explain its mechanism of action,clear range of spatial eigenvalues for different walking intensity,to provide a mathematical basis which can meet the park planning and design for different strength of walking.The research selects the Zhaolin Park which is rich in pathway space and has good walking activities.According to the spatial characteristics are divided 62 units of analysis.The measurement time is 8 working days in fine weather in May 2017,with early(6: 30-8: 00),mid(12: 00-13: 00)and late(16: 30-18: 00)to collect walking intensity and collect the spatial features on May 11.For data collection,the pathway space characteristics are divided into morphological characteristics and configurational characteristics.Using field measurement combined with Seg Net tool to collect park space morphological characteristics data(park pathway length,width,line type,pavement type,aspect ratio,green area ratio and sky view).Using spatial syntax to capture configurational characteristics data(connectivity,selectivity,integration).Using behavioral observation tool SOPARC combined with Compendium of Physical Activities division and collection of walking intensity(low intensity walking,moderate intensity walking and moderate-vigorous intensity walking).In data analysis,firstly,pearson correlation analysis was used to construct the correlation between the spatial characteristics of park and and walking intensity.Secondly,using univariate linear regression analysis combined with qualitative research in order to explain the mechanism of the spatial characteristics of the park on low intensity walking,moderate intensity walking and moderate-vigorous intensity walking.Finally,using scatter plots to define the range of values for each type of feature in the park space.The results of this study show that:(1)There is a correlation between the spatial characteristics of the park and each walking intensity.Among the spatial morphological features,there was no correlation between green visual rate or sky visibility and each walking intensity.Other morphological characteristics have significant correlation differences depending on the walking intensity.Among them,the length,width and pavement type of the park have significant correlation with each walking intensity.There is a correlation between low-intensity walking moderate-intensity walking and pathway line type.Aspect ratio only correlates with moderate-intensity walking.(2)Park space organization characteristics have an impact on all kinds of walking intensity.The spatial morphological characteristics have the strongest impact on the moderate-intensity walking,on moderate-vigorous intensity walking is less affected.The impact of the spatial characteristics of the park on the low-intensity walking was in the order of degree of integration,selectivity,width,length,pavement,connectivity,line type.The order of influence on the moderate-intensity walking is: pathway length,width,integration degree,selectivity,pavement type,connectivity,line type and aspect ratio.The influence degree of moderate-vigorous intensity walking is in turn the width,length,integration,pavement,selectivity,connectivity.(3)There are differences in the scope of the park’s spatial eigenvalue range corresponding to different walking intensity.The low-intensity walking corresponding to the appropriate value of the park space is broader.In terms of organizational characteristics,when the degree of integration is greater than 1 meter,the degree of connection is greater than 2 meters,and the degree of selectivity is greater than 200,the walking intensity increases with the increase of tissue eigenvalues.In terms of morphological characteristics,the length of the park section should be between 20-120 m and the width more than 1m,and the overall surface and linear should be as far as possible.The appropriate range of pathway space corresponding to medium-intensity walking is small,the selection degree of the organizational features is about 1300,the integration degree is between 1-1.8 and the connection degree is about 8.The length of the pathway should be more than 20 meters,the width is about 5.8m,the aspect ratio is about 1.5,and the overall pavement should be chosure as far as possible.Moderate-vigorous intensity walking space characteristics appropriate,in addition to line and aspect ratio outside.This study explores the relationship between urban park pathway and different walking intensity.The results provide the theoretical basis for the construction of the relationship between the spatial characteristics of urban parks and walking intensity.At the same time,it provides data support for the planning and design of park pathway with different intensity walking.
