With the development of mobility in China and the vigorous development of urban land, the traffic volume of urban roads and the number of road access have increased rapidly.Road access serve as the passages connecting internal roads of urban buildings and external roads, and the traffic impacts caused by entering and exiting motorized vehicles have become increasingly apparent. On the other hand,non-motorized vehicles play an important role in travel ways of residents in China. However, while non-motor vehicles are booming, the road safety situation of non-motor vehicles is not optimistic.Entering and exiting vehicles at road access will interact with and interfere with non-motorized vehicles, which will have a certain impact on the traffic safety and traffic efficiency of road access. Therefore, the phenomenon of conflict between motorized and non-motorized vehicle at road access is taken as the research object in this article, and the traffic impact is quantified by the actual data and theoretical model. The main contents include the following parts:(1)Study on traffic flow characteristics at road access.Based on the actual traffic survey data, starting from the characteristics of the motor vehicle, this paper first analyzes the characteristic of the arrival and departure of motor vehicles, the speed characteristics, and travel time entering to the main road. Then traffic characteristics of non-motorized vehicle are studied. The characteristic of the arrival is researched, and the characteristics of speed of non-motorized vehicles are emphatic studied from the following three aspects: distribution characteristics, average speed under different characteristics, and different impacts of conflict on the speed of non-motor vehicles under different characteristics. Finally, the conflict characteristics between motorized and non-motorized vehicle are researched, including the relationship between conflicts and volume of traffic flow and avoiding track of non-motorized vehicle when conflicts happened.(2)Study on conflict probability between motorized and non-motorized vehicles of different ways of entering and exiting at road access. This paper uses the conflict probability as an indicator to evaluate the traffic safety of road access, and researches the conflict probability of different ways of entering and exiting from a microscopic point of view.Firstly,a conflict probability model of different ways of entering and exiting is established based on the traffic conflict technology. The actual data was collected to test the headway distribution characteristics of the group of nonmotorized vehicle. The equilibrium of probabilities was used for the calibration of four types of critical gap of motorized vehicles crossing non-motorized vehicles. The occupying duration time of entering and exiting motorized vehicle at road access are analyzed respectively. Then, the numerical test of the model is performed. Finally, the model is applied to three access in Zhenjiang, and the conflict probabilities of different ways of entering and exiting at road access are calculated.(3)Study on travel time model of vehicle entering to the main road at road access. This article uses the travel time of vehicle entering to the main road to characterize the traffic efficiency at road access.Firstly, the travel time model of vehicle entering to the main road is established respectively based on the dual regression analysis theory and the gap theory respectively. The binary regression model is derived taking the flow rates of non-motorized vehicles and motorized vehicles as independent variables and travel time as dependent variables, and the gap theory model focuses on the delay of the motorized vehicle waiting for the group of non-motorized vehicles and the delay crossing the non-motor vehicle lane. Then, the actual data are selected to verify the suitability of the two models. Finally, sensitivity of the model was analyzed in terms of delay of the motor vehicle waiting for the group of non-motorized vehicles and the travel time.Meanwhile, the relationship between delay of the motor vehicle waiting for the group of non-motorized vehicles and volume of non-motorized vehicle is studied.
