Mixed BMO Algorithm And Its Applications In Radar Filte Design

As the main sensor to obtain the enemy information,radar plays a more and more important role in modern warfare.Generally speaking,the target detected by the radar is non-cooperation.Moreover,due to electronic jamming and stealth techniques,it is very difficult to successfully detect a target for the radar.What's worse,the complex terrain,e.g.,mountain,vegetation,and sea clutter,makes the target detection more difficult.Tadar system,by adopting a proper filter,can effectively detect targets and filter out the unneeded clutter,noise,and other interference.Besides the classical step response and impulse response invariance,the optimization methods can be applied for filter design.In the paper the bird mating optimizer(BMO)is used for radar filter design,which is applied in the practical radar system.The contributions are listed as follows:First,the basic principles,parameter setting,and implement of the BMO are analyzed,and the shortcoming of the BMO in local optimization is discussed.Combined with another optimization algorithm,namely,the frog leaping,we propose a mixed BMO algorithm.Then,the general design methods for radar filters are analyzed,and the mixed BMO algorithm is applied to the radar filter design.The proposed algorithm is compared with the genetic algorithm,frog leapingalgorithm,and BMOalgorithm.The parameter setting is also discussed.Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.Finally,the filter designed by the mixed BMO algorithm is used in practical radar signal processing system.The results verify the validity of the proposed filter which isbased on the mixed BMO.
