With the continuous progress of science and technology and the increasing livingstandard of the people,the amount of automotive is also growing explosively.The problem of automotive safety has brought far-reaching influence to the society and the individual.Accidents that are common and prone to serious consequences are collisions,and the enormous energy produced in the collision will cause irreversible damage to automotive,drivers,and even pedestrians.Energy absorption box is an energy absorption device in the front of automotive collision.The study of energy absorption box belongs to the field of passive safety.How to absorb more energy and take into account the demand of light weight is a problem to be solved urgently.Besides,in the field of military armor protection,with the continuous evolution and improvement of explosive weapons,the study of light and good protective energy absorption structure has never stopped.Because of the longitudinal compression,the lateral structure of the negative Poisson' s ratio energy absorption structure will shrink inward,so many scholars have done a thorough study of its blast resistance or ballistic resistance performance through numerical simulation.On the basis of this,from the point of view of the production method,we hope to provide some comparative results for the numerical simulation from the experimental point of view by the production of some energy absorption structures.The feasibility of a production method is verified by quasi-static compression experiment and simulation.In this paper,the production methods of two kinds of negative Poisson' s ratio energy absorption structures are introduced.One is the Re-entrant honeycomb auxetic structure,and the light metal plate is folded manually through the mold.The other is the production of the three-dimensional double-arrow honeycomb structure.Two methods are introduced.The first production method is to split the three-dimensional structure into two-dimensional structure and assemble the two-dimensional structures.The two-dimensional structure is fabricated by laser cutting.The second production method is to consider the replacement of the joint of the metal rod with the joint of the PLA material,and to assemble the three-dimensional double-arrow honeycomb structure by the connection of the joint and the metal bar,mainly used by laser cutting technology and 3D printing technology.At last,the quasi-static compression experiment and numerical simulation of the secondmethods for the production of the three-dimensional double arrow honeycomb structure are carried out.The feasibility of the production method is verified through the study of its performance and the consistency of the comparison.
