Rolling bearings in rotating machinery are common and easily broken parts.Faults in rolling bearings can often lead to mechanical shutdowns and even more serious consequences.Good lubrication can reduce the friction between rolling bearing components and slow down the failure of rolling bearings due to friction.Acoustic emission detection technology is a widely used dynamic non-destructive testing technology, which has a wide range of applications and real-time online monitoring and other characteristics. Therefore,in this paper, acoustic emission technology can be used to collect and monitor the lubrication status of rolling bearings. This paper studied five different lubrication states of rolling bearings. The four AE parameters of RMS,energy rate, event count rate and average ring counts per event have the ability to reflect the lubrication state of rolling bearings in the detection of rolling bearing different amount of grease. However, the two acoustic emission parameters of RMS and energy rate are superior to the other two acoustic emission parameters. In the detection of rolling bearing with grease attenuation, the four acoustic emission parameters of RMS,energy rate, event count rate, and average ring counts per event can show the grease consumption of the rolling bearing.Of the four parameters,RMS is the best parameter to reflect this lubrication state. The event rate and energy rate are the secondary choice to distinguish the state of lubrication under low lubrication. It is not recommended that the average ring counts per event can be used as an index to discriminate the lubrication state. In the detection of rolling bearing with outer ring damage and insufficient lubrication, the parameters of RMS,energy rate, event count rate, average ring counts and peaks can well compare and analyze the acoustic emission signals of rolling bearings with lubrication failure and outer ring fault. In the detection of rolling bearings with grease of different consistency,we can draw the following conclusions: we use the same kind of grease, the parameters of RMS,energy rate, event count rate, total ring and peaks will decrease as the increasing amount of grease when the lubricating grease is insufficient. When the consistency of grease is lower, the corresponding parameters will the larger in the same amount of grease. When the grease is sufficient and excessive, these parameters will fluctuate in a small range, and the difference in the same parameter is smaller. In the detection of rolling bearings with contaminated grease,we have the following conclusions: When dust and metal particles are mixed in the grease, the RMS,energy rate, event count rate, and average ring counts per event will be increased, and the overall acoustic emission signals will be larger.
