With the rapid process of urbanization and economic development,it has become a common belief that urban space should be used intensively,for which purpose threedimensional development of urban space is a main approach.Thus three-dimensional urban systems are being widely built in Chinese cities,and commercial three-dimensional system is one of the main types.However,new business mode leads to the decrease of usage rate of these systems.To slow down this decrease,it would be an effective approach to improve walking experience of these systems,and accurately evaluating walking experience in these systems would be the essential to take this approach.This essay focuses on walking experience in commercial three-dimensional system.By taking Optics Valley Pedestrian Zone as the main case,this essay tries to find out the indexes and evaluation method of walking experience in commercial three-dimensional system,and how to improve walking experience using the evaluation results.In the first and second parts,concept and evaluation principles are analyzed based on current research and theories.Meanwhile,walking space system of Optics Valley Pedestrian Zone is analyzed thoroughly.On the basis of the first two parts,an evaluation index system is established.Weights of each index of this system are then figured out using AHP.With this system,a field research is carried out and pedestrian's satisfaction assessment data of walking experience in Optics Valley Pedestrian Zone is collected.Based on this data,method of IPA is adopted to figure out which indexes need to be improved the most.In the final part of this essay,recommendations are brought up to improve the indexes that need to be improved the most.The research figures out a complete index system for evaluation of walking experience in commercial three-dimensional system.With the case study of Optics Valley Pedestrian Zone,it is found that factors concerning “comfort” and “convenience” affect walking experience in commercial three-dimensional system the most,while Optics Valley Pedestrian Zone shows some problems in such factors.This problems can be solved and walking experience and space usage rate would be improved in turn.
