Fire emergency powe is referred to as EPS,mainly for backup power in the city after blackout for inverter.Lead-acid battery is an important part of the EPS cabinet to provide DC power supply to the load. The length of battery life directly affects the overall quality of fire emergency power supply and service life. However, the traditional charging method is not based on the internal principle of the battery charging reasonably, which results a long charging time, and it can not precisely control the degree of charge, the battery to maximize its performance, thus shortening the service life. The study shows that: in the process of battery charge and discharge, what the most important aspect to impact is the battery chargin. In other words, the vast majority of lead-acid batteries in the discharge process with the possibility of damage is relatively small, but the charge in the process of filling the possibility of great damage. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)The charge-discharge characteristics of lead-acid batteries are mainly studied, which lays the foundation for further study of the generation of lead sulfate crystals according to the chemical reaction principle.2)A variety of battery charging technology and control methods are discussed, using EPS battery for variable current charging technology, based on the traditional charge to improve the charging speed is one,the other one is for the overall battery balancing Charge3)The electrochemical mechanism of lead-acid battery is analyzed. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of battery vulcanization, the pulse charging method was adopted to make it possible to revamp the sulfur-cured battery during the charging process.4)The design of the lead-acid battery charger hardware and software part.
