In the power system,reactive loss and harmonic components have become an important factor affecting the energy saving and security of the whole power grid.With the increasing of perceptual load in urban and rural area,the reactive power compensation is needed to improve the power factor of the system,reduce the harmonic component of the power grid,and improve the security of the power grid effectively.However,due to the input of different compensation capacity value,the power factor and voltage harmonic distortion can not be taken into account in the reactive power compensation.In the power grid,the harmonics will reduce the use efficiency of the electric equipment,accelerate the insulation aging,shorten its service life;At the same time,harmonics will cause local resonance in power system,enlarge the harmonic component,cause the electric equipment overheat and even burn equipment,cause fire,seriously threaten people's life and property safety.So in this paper,the improved problem of reactive power compensation technology based on improved particle swarm optimization is proposed,which can effectively obtain the best numerical value and ensure the voltage harmonic distortion rate is kept within the safety regulation.In this paper,the model of the power grid for reactive compensation is modeled,and the power factor and harmonic distortion rate are used as two objective functions,and the equivalent power factor mathematic model and voltage distortion rate mathematical model are obtained according to the relation between power grid and the harmonic voltage of the load end.The constraint conditions include two parts: the state-specified power factor and the security range of harmonic distortion rate as constraints;The inequality constraint condition which is satisfied by the working current and voltage of the capacitor.This paper presents and uses MATLAB program to write an improved program of multi-objective PSO to improve the convergence speed and global search ability of particle swarm optimization algorithm,which can restrain the harmonic component and improve the safety and reliability of power grid operation on the basis of guaranteeing the power factor.Finally,taking the reactive power compensation device in the laboratory as an example,through the simulation of the model,the optimal results are put into the reactive power compensator,and the results are compared,and the results obtained by multi-objective optimization are better than the traditional reactive compensation technology,and the energy saving effect and power supply safety are improved.
