Due to attractive shape and strong visual impact,nowadays specially-shaped curved complex surfaces are being widely used in such modern buildings as high-speed railway station,stadiums,airports,and megastores and so on.However,such specially-shaped spatial structures,typical of irregular shapes,make the design,modeling and construction rather difficult.Currently the construction of specially-shaped spatial structures consumes lots of time and energy.As designers have to manually partition the curved surface mesh,the modeling often takes quite a long time.Besides,it is difficult for constructors to make accurate spatial localization and the structural component processing is complex.So far available professional software for the modeling of specially-shaped spatial structures hasn't been enough.As a result,highly-efficient construction of specially-shaped spatial structures with high quality is a great challenge.With the development of information technologies,BIM technologies are seeing a wide application to various construction projects.There are BIM parametric technologies designed for buildings with specially-shaped surfaces.At present BIM parametric technologies are mainly used for architecture.However,the application of the technology to exterior design,spatial structure modeling and construction of specially-shaped buildings is rather rare.Specially-shaped spatial structures are complicated in both exterior camber design and spatial structure.In view of what has been mentioned above,the paper sorted out and expounded the parametric technology application of specially-shaped spatial structures,so as to open up theoretical ideas for studying the application of BIM parametric technologies to the modeling and construction of such spatial structures.At last,the paper probed into the application,based on the practical engineering project Hengda Haihua Island Sea World Grand Aquarium,of BIM ideas and parametric technologies to the modeling and construction of specially-shaped spatial structures.In this paper,the basic concept of heteromorphic curved surface and heteromorphic space structure is described.This paper introduces the basic definition,characteristics and advantages of BIM and BIM parameterization,and makes simple arrangement and analysis of BIM software system.This paper expounds the adaptability of BIM parameterization technology to heteromorphic space structure,and chooses Rhino software and Grasshopper plug-in for the research.Then through actual engineering case by sea is a flower island ocean world aquarium project research parameterized modeling of the steel structure curtain wall for large aquarium facade of curtain wall and steel structure truss modeling logic analysis,creating fast modeling parametric computing nodes,confirmed feasible and efficient parametric modeling method;Study the application of BIM parametric technology in construction,for large aquarium fa?Ade curtain wall and steel structure truss space coordinate information extraction,through the parameterized technology combined with total station space coordinates.At the end of the paper,the application of BIM parameterization technology in special-shaped space structure is summarized and prospected,and the future of BIM parametric technology can be applied in a broader and deeper level.
