Recently, with the continuously development of China’s economic and social level, the virogrous development of construction and scaffolding industry has led to a variety of new scaffolding has been developed.Among them, the cable-stayed and attached scaffold is well applied because of its technical advantages such as material saving, convenient erection, strong adaptability and good economic benefits. However,in order to make the attached scaffolding better popularized and used, the research on its safety is urgently required. In this paper, the cable-stayed and attached scaffold is taken as the research object, comprehensively studied the menchanical properties of cable-stayed and attached scaffold through theoretical calculation, experimental research and finite element simulation analysis. The main research contents and results were as follows:(1)The major scaffolding accidents happened in recent years in China are statistically investigated and through literature review, the main cause of the accident are analyzed and summarized, which lies mainly on the non-standard scaffolding set-up,the quality problem of the steel tube components and the safety management problem of field construction.(2)A brief introduction to the cable-stayed and attached scaffold, and studies the theoretical calculation of the cable-stayed and attached scaffold, with the built up of cable-stayed and attached scaffold in“national defense science and technology Career Technical College apartment building” project as an example, the frame body build-up scheme satisfies the requirement of specification through theory analysis and calculation according to method of scaffolding used in the specification.(3)The menchanical performance and the effect of different cable failure on the menchanical performance of cable-stayed and attached scaffold are studied.(4)The finite element software ABAQUS is used to model the intermittent scaffold, and its menchanical performance under normal service load and the influence of different cable failure modes on its menchanical performance are analyzed.
