Clutch is the part between the engine and the gearbox in the automobile transmission system,which transfers the torque of the engine,and cuts off the power when starting and shifting,and slows down the impact of the transmission system.The clutch driven plate is usually equipped with cushion spring to reduce the axial impact during the clutch engagement and disengagement,and increase the axial flexibility of the clutch driven plate.The load-deflection characteristics of the cushion spring have important influence on the clutch’s engagement and disengagement characteristics,and because of its special structure and function,the fatigue failure of the cushion spring is easy to happen.Therefore,it is necessary to study the impact of the cushion spring on the engagement and disengagement characteristics of clutch and its fatigue reliability analysis.In this paper,based on detail introduced the structure of the clutch and cushion spring,the process of clutch engagement and disengagement have been analyzed,and then a corresponding dynamic model have been established for each stage.In order to analysis the impact of the cushion spring on the engagement and disengagement characteristics of clutch and its fatigue reliability analysis,The torque transfer calculation model of clutch have been established to analysis the influence of the cushion spring on the engagement characteristics of clutch,analyzed the impact of the cushion spring on the clutch disengagement characteristics by combined with the cushion characteristics of the clutch disc assembly and the load characteristics of the cover assembly.An analysis of the load-deflection curve for cushion spring during the engagement phase based on the workbench software was proposed,The results of the finite element analysis were imported into the fatigue analysis software "nCode Design-Life" for a fatigue reliability analysis,fatigue and damage nephograms of every node were obtained.A test bench and corresponding test methods were developed,and the reliability of the simulation analysis results were verified by the axial compression test and fatigue test of the cushion spring.In this paper,A new detailed analysis model of cushion spring was presented,The detailed analysis model and research methods of this paper can be applied to the research of other structural forms of cushion springs,The impact of the cushion spring on the characteristics of clutch and its fatigue reliability analysis have been carried out.The research results of this paper can provide a theoretical reference for the design and structure optimization of clutch and cushion spring,which also have practical value for promoting the comfort and improving the gear shift performance of the automobile.
