As one of the key equipments for ultrafine powder preparation,horizontal sand mill has the characteristics of low production cost,simple structure,easy control of parameters,and easy maintenance.Increasing the productivity,energy efficiency,and wear of horizontal sand mills have always been a research hotspot for related units.In this thesis,the horizontal sand mill is taken as the research object,and the three-dimensional model of the grinding chamber of the horizontal sand mill is established by the three-dimensional solid modeling software,and the model is imported into the discrete element software EDEM to simulate the grinding process of the horizontal sand mill.Based on the discrete element method and stress intensity theory,the problem of low grinding efficiency and energy utilization of the horizontal sand mill was studied.Through the simulation results,the velocity distribution law of the grinding medium ball,collision energy between grinding media balls,and energy utilization and other relate information were obtained.Based on the Hertz-Mindlin with Archard wear theoretical model,the abrasion of the grinding media ball to the sand mill was analyzed,the wear rules and the maximum wear depth of the grinding device and the grinding drum were obtained,The main wear mechanisms of both are obtained through the distribution of positive and tangential cumulative energy of the grinding device and the grinding drum.The workbench and EDEM coupling method was used to input the pressure of the grinding device in the EDEM as load data into the Workbench.The static analysis of the main shaft of the sand mill was performed,and the stress cloud map and total deformation cloud map of the main shaft were obtained.Fluent software was used to simulate the movement of the slurry in the sanding chamber so that the motion law of the fluid and the wear law of the slurry on the mill were obtained.Using the method of controlling variables,the EDEM was used to simulate the parameters such as rotation speed,filling rate,number of stirring claws,grinding disc radius,and disc thickness of horizontal sand mills.how The variation of various parameters casing the changing of the grinding effect,energy utilization and wear of the horizontal sand mill was obtained,and the parameter values with good grinding effect were obtained by considering the average collision energy and energy utilization of the particles.The results of the simulation were verified through experimental methods.It was proved that the simulation has certain feasibility.The research in this thesis can provide a reference for the design,optimization of the horizontal sand mill and the reduction of wear of the sand mill.
