As an important means of transportation in the world today,the ship plays an important role in the process of economic globalization.With the marine transportation becoming more and more frequent,the ship’s tonnage becoming larger and there being the requirements of global energy conservation and environmental protection,it is a hot topic to consider the route from the safety and economy of the ship.However,the marine environment is much more complicated,and the ship’s voyage will be affected by some sea surface environment factors such as the wind,the waves,the sea current,the sea fog,the sea ice and so on.This paper mainly studies the method of route optimization for the ship based on the meteorological environment of the sea surface,so as to realize the economy and safety of ship on the voyage.First,the paper generalizes the generation and development of reanalysis data,and several major marine reanalysis product centers and their application areas are summarized.At the same time,the global distribution characteristics of sea reanalysis data concluding sea surface wind field and wave field are analyzed and summarized.Secondly,the influence of marine meteorological environment on ship navigation is analyzed.The economic effect,that is the fuel consumption of the ship,and the security impact caused by the meteorological environment on the sea surface are theoretically analyzed firstly,and the ship route evaluation model under the influence of marine environment is established.Then the simulation experiments about the economic effect and security impact on the ship are carried out based on the marine reanalysis product,and the results are also analyzed.Thirdly,the method of ship route optimization based on firefly algorithm is introduced.Based on the research of ship route optimization process,the firefly algorithm is analyzed,which majorly includes the basic principle,central idea and algorithm characteristics.And then,taking energy and security as the optimization objective,the main steps and processes of route optimization based on firefly algorithm are described.Finally,two different sea areas were selected,and in each sea area,marine reanalysis data representing four seasons were selected,and the simulation experiments of the ship route optimization algorithm are carried out based on the marine reanalysis data of these area.The experimental results show that in the harsh season,the safety of the ship can be improved by optimizing the route,but the economic benefits have not been improved significantly.In some seasons,however,the fuel consumption of ships on the optimal route is slightly higher than that on the initial routes.However,while considering the comprehensive objectives of economy and security of the ship,using the method proposed in this paper,the optimal route can be seen as better than the original route.
