The foggy day is very common in the northern coastal areas of China.The images collected by the monitoring equipment on the ship will be blurred,and the personnel in the cabin can not get a clear target image in the foggy day.The situation will further affect the analysis and judgement of the ship's drivers on the voyage.This foggy weather has undoubtedly brought a severe challenge for the shipping industry.Therefore,it is necessary to reduce the risk of navigation in fog and haze,and increase the clarity of the image.In order to capture the clear image of the monitoring equipment on the ship in fog,the paper will study the image defogging technology.At present,the method of the image demogging can be roughly divided into two categories: image enhancement method and image restoration method.The image enhancement method has been developed early and has a wide range of applications,but the effect of removal fog image is not good.The method of image restoration is more complex,but the effect of removal fog image is better.These two kinds of methods will be studied in this paper.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The paper studies some classic image enhancement methods and does simulation experiments.The advantages and disadvantages of each method are analyzed.The paper gives application scenarios of these image enhancement methods.(2)The physical model of fog descending is introduced in the method of image restoration.The morbid character of the degraded physical model of the image is analyzed.The paper proposes an improved algorithm for removing fog from ship's cabin image.The improved algorithm uses the method of filtering instead of soft matting to guide for transmission optimization and improves method of estimating atmospheric intensity based on the characteristics of the fog images outside the ship's cabin in order to restore foggy image.At last,the effect of image and removal time is analyzed and compared.(3)The image in the video is continuous,so an algorithm for real-time fog removal is gived for video surveillance of ships.The experimental contrast analysis is made,and the appropriate filtering window and luminance coefficient are selected,The experimental results show that the algorithm achieves good video demogging effect.
