In the modern large-scale thermal power station.the working state of the condenser is directly related to the safe operation and economic benefit of the whole unit.As the core of the cold end system of the thermal power plant,the main function of the condenser is to condensate the steam turbine exhaust into water and to form a higher vacuum at the exhaust outlet.Finally,the steam will expand to the lowest pressure in the steam turbine and increase the available enthalpy drop of the steam in the steam turbine.In the course of operation,the condenser's cooling water is affected by water quality and chemical and physical factors.There will be clogging and fouling inside the tube bundle.In order to deal with the scaling problem,we generally use rubber ball cleaning system to remove the scale.At present,the cleaning of condenser rubber ball is the most mature and most widely used cleaning method,which has obvious advantages compared with other condensers cleaning methods.In recent years,a lot of improvements have been made to rubber ball cleaning system,but there still exist some problems such as inadequate cleaning and low ball collection rate.This paper analyzes the reasons for the problems of the traditional rubber ball cleaning system.The results show that the velocity distribution of the condenser inlet water chamber is not uniform.There are a large number of vortices in the upper and lower parts of the water chamber.As the density of the sponge ball is similar to the water,the sponge ball is easily affected by the cooling water.In order to avoid this situation,the improvement method of throwing and collecting ball directly to the cooling pipe is put forward in this paper.This method can avoid too much contact between the rubber ball and the cooling water,thus ensuring the smooth entry of the rubber ball into the cooling pipe.According to this method,a new design scheme of rubber ball cleaning device for condenser is put forward in this paper,and the overall structure and working principle of the new scheme are introduced in detail.Four different structures of ball collecting and bowling are summarized,and then the geometric and mathematical models are established according to the actual situation.The most suitable structure is found in four spare structures by numerical simulation.At last,the new cleaning device was tested with different wet density and different velocity of rubber ball.The results show that the wet density and input speed of the rubber ball have no effect on the new condenser rubber ball cleaning device.The ball device can be distributed to the cooling pipe steadily and effectively,and the ball receiving device has 100% effect of of receiving the ball.
