With the advance of science and technology, nuclear technology is becoming an excellent countermeasure to ease energy pressure. But,with the operation of nuclear power plants will emit large amounts of thermal discharge and may cause thermal pollution of the environment. Therefore, strengthen the supervision of thermal discharge is very important.Benefit from the rapid development of remote sensing technology, there are already more mature alternative to the traditional method of Remote Sensing SST investigations. In large,medium-scale,it has been directed to NOAA-AVHRR,MODIS sensors, such as practical operational monitoring algorithm. In a small area for a local monitoring, limited spatial resolution, only a limited number of sensors may be used.Landsat8/TIRS thermal infrared band sensors using split window settings, with high spatial resolution, very suitable for nuclear power plant thermal discharge monitoring and other small-scale SST inversion, but is still relatively small study of split window algorithm of the sensor. This paper mainly studies on inversion small-scale seawater temperature by Remote Sensing. In order to enhance the practicality Landsat8 image in small scale applications, conduct applied research on TIRS sensor infrared split window algorithm. In this paper, the projections for split window algorithm parameters and constructs split window algorithm inversion model.By comparison with the measured data, the retrieval accuracy of the algorithm can reach 1.4?.Finally,using the above algorithm, the paper inversion of the Red River nuclear power plant at different seasons of the distribution of thermal discharge, and the inversion of the data analysis,it was confirmed that the method can accurately and reliably monitor the impact of nuclear power plant thermal discharge.
