The concept and model of a self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer have been put forward in the last century and widely used in geological exploration and aeromagnetic surveying and other fields.The technology of this magnetometer has been highly developed in foreign countries.In recent years,some progress has been made in the study of self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer in our country.Nevertheless,domestically these is still no commercialized instrument with the performance as good as abroad.In this paper,self-oscillating laser pumped magnetometer was explored.Self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer is a kind of optical pump magnetometer.It has an advantage over tracked optically pumped magnetometer in response speed.This article describes the background and principle of the self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer.Besides,according to the model of atomic magnetic moments,the phasic relationship between magnetic fields,RF signals and optical signals in self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer has been elaborated.When the RF signal is used as a reference,the optical signal is locked and the self-oscillating can still be generated when the phase shift error between the optical signal and the RF signal is within 70°.In this paper,after the self-oscillating circuit is fabricated,a self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer system is set up in the laboratory.The results of the experiment show that the sensitivity of the self-oscillating optically pumped magnetometer is 10pT/(?).
