Research On Co-evolution Of Dynamic Capabilities Of International Engineering Contracting Enterprise

In response to the national call for "Go Global" and "the Belt and Road" strategy,our national enterprises conduct international engineering contracting positively.With the international contracting boom,the domestic contractors are more and more competitive in the ranking of Engineering News Record from America.However,the domestic international contractors are still facing many kinds of challenges to improve their performance steadily under the pressure of turbulent and complicated international contracting environment.Besides,their viability is also facing the restriction from other enterprises.And the viability is impacted by their dynamic capabilities,which are enterprise capacities related to restructuring internal and external resources to keep competitive,and their coordination with competitors.Thus it’s significant for enterprise sustainable competitiveness to explore international contractors’ dynamic capabilities and coordination.The paper researches it by using theoretical model and computerized simulation.Refer to ecology,the international contracting environment is assimilated to a business ecosystem in this paper,that is international contractor ecosystem.Under the ecosystem,the international contractors and their competitors are interact and impact with each other.And their dynamic capabilities co-evolution with their competitor system.During the conduct of international contracting,enterprises attaining the results expected will be impacted by this coevolution.Thus,the paper will refer to Kauffman’s NKC model,build the co-evolution NKC model between international contractor dynamic capabilities and their competitor system.And it will also use SD method to simulate,research and conclude the international contractors’ adaptive capability and their dynamic capabilities evolution level under international contracting environment.There are 5 dimensions and related details of international contractors’ dynamic capabilities induced with the summary of perspectives from domestic and foreign scholars.The co-evolution pattern between international contractor dynamic capabilities and their competitor system are explored based on theoretical analysis,and 3 patterns are summarized of our domestic international contractors.Then the NKC model building and SD simulation are conducted finally.The research shows that changing the co-evolution pattern between international contractor dynamic capabilities and their competitor system will impact their adaptive capacity in the international environment.The result will provide the theory and practice support to help our domestic international contractors find the best growth path for their dynamic capabilities,and provide contractors with reference to select their suitable means to survive and grow in the international market.
