| With more and more applications of super high-rise buildings,port and dock projects,landslide anti-slide pile projects,and bridge projects,the horizontal bearing capacity requirements for pile foundations have also increased.Due to the limited horizontal load transmission and the large cross-sectional area of the wedge-shaped piles,the wedge-shaped piles can bear more horizontal loads.However,there are relatively few studies on the bearing properties of wedge-shaped piles under horizontal loads,especially the study of horizontal force characteristics of wedge-shaped pile groups is rarely involved.In this paper,the wedge-shaped piles in silty soil of Kaifeng area are taken as the research object.Based on theoretical analysis,experimental analysis and numerical simulation methods,the bearing characteristics of wedge-shaped piles under horizontal loads are studied.Firstly,the scale model test was performed on the wedge-shaped pile under horizontal load,and the finite-element software of ABAQUS was used to simulate the scale-reduction process.Then,the similarities and differences of the bearing characteristics between the wedge-shaped single pile and the high-side area round pile under horizontal load were analyzed.Secondly,the pile-soil effect of wedge-shaped pile groups under horizontal load is studied,and the bearing characteristics of wedge-shaped pile groups under horizontal load are revealed.Finally,by controlling the length and surface area of the pile 、 the length and volume of the pile,the horizontal bearing characteristics of the wedge-shaped single pile are optimized.The main results are as follows:(1)In the direction of the forward force,vertical piles in side piles and longitudinal outer row ofpiles have the first peak of soil resistance when the depth of the pile is approximately 0.1 times the length of the pile top.For the middle pile in the longitudinal middle row pile,the peak position of the first soil resistance is about 0.15 times the length of the pile top;the second soil resistance peak position of longitudinal middle row piles occurs at about 0.9 times the pile length at the pile top,which is slightly higher than the second peak position of the longitudinal row piles.(2)In the small angle range,if the diameter of the pile is decreased,the horizontal bearing capacity of the wedge-shaped pile will increase by approximately 3.0% at the same length-diameter ratio,when the length and the surface area of the pile is equal or the length and the volume of the pile is the same.When the surface area is equal,the horizontal bearing capacity of the wedge-shaped pile is increased by about 0.7% compared to the equal volume.(3)It is suggested that when the pile length is fixed,the preferred size of the wedge-shaped pile is based on the equal surface area and the reduction of the lower diameter.In the small angle range,when the wedge angle is 1.0°,the horizontal load bearing characteristics of the wedge-shaped pile groups have the best comprehensive effect. |
