The brake torque of the brake is an important guarantee for the good braking performance of the vehicle. In this paper, the braking torque of the floating-clamp disc brake is studied and analyzed in detail.Firstly, the braking principle and the calculation method of the braking torque are analyzed, and the factors affecting the braking torque are analyzed. The 3D model of the virtual prototype of the floating clamp disc brake is created by using SolidWorks 3D software, and the brake lining and braking are created by using the ViewFlex module in the Adams. The rigid flexible body model of the virtual prototype of the floating clamp disc brake is established. The dynamic simulation of the floating clamp disc brake is carried out at different braking conditions, and the influence of the contact condition of the friction pair on the braking torque is analyzed. The test device for the floating clamp disc brake is designed, and the brake pressure is different. The brake test was carried out on the brake initial temperature and the initial braking speed.Based on the bench test data, the distribution of braking torque test characteristics of the floating clamp disc brake was obtained. The results of dynamic simulation are compared with the results of test data analysis.(1)in the initial period of the single brake, the brake lining on both sides of the brake disc has a collision contact with the high-speed rotating brake disc in the very short period of time, and the angle reduction and braking torque of the brake disc reach the maximum. In the continuous braking stage, the braking torque fluctuates around the average value. With the decrease of the rotating speed of the brake disc, the range and frequency of the braking torque ripple gradually decrease, and finally tend to be stable.(2)the average braking torque will decrease with the increase of the initial speed of the brake. On the one hand, the contact condition of the friction pair is poor at high speed;on the other hand, the higher the initial speed of the brake, the faster the friction pair is heating up,the rate of the friction coefficient decreasing is speeding up,and the braking torque is reduced.(3)the friction coefficient increases with the increase of the initial braking temperature. At the temperature of 238?,the friction coefficient decreases with the increase of the initial braking temperature, and the friction coefficient drops sharply at the temperature of 300?degrees centigrade;within a certain range of brake pressure(3000~5000kPa)and the range of common vehicle speed(0~120km/h)The higher the initial braking speed and the higher the braking pressure, the smaller the average friction coefficient and the more the influence degree is.(4)with the increase of the initial braking temperature, the braking torque graduallydecreases and reaches the maximum in the temperature range(200~250?).When the brake pressure is greater than 3000 kPa,the braking torque decreases with the increase of the initial braking speed. The braking torque is especially obvious under the working condition of160km/h;the friction system is especially obvious. The number and brake pressure are the two factors that affect the braking torque directly. The initial brake temperature and the initial braking speed are all two factors that affect the friction coefficient, and then influence the braking torque indirectly.
