With the demands of comfortableness and security increase of customers,new ways of front windshield glass assembling was used in truck.The traditional technique was replaced by bonding process of sealant.The new technique increases the stiffness and sealing property.Coating quality and felting quality are the influencing factors of the new technique.To solve the problems,machine vision technology and industrial robots were applied.The new goal of this paper is used machine vision to solve the image distortion,body work piece identification and the accurate positioning of body parts,and to improve the high quality of assembly and the rate of product qualification.This paper uses accurately identifying and the space position of the assembly target as the breakthrough to accomplish the error correction function.Specific algorithm was used to do the feature point extraction work and the stereo matching.The position of the robots was got through the three-dimensional reconstruction of the work piece and the cab.The information of the cab position was send to the control system.Then,the guiding trajectory was corrected by the control system.100 cars with a certain type glass were measured to validate the effectiveness of the new system at the last.The success rate is 85% by using the control system.The results of the data shows that the three main problems were better solved by using the machine vision system,and the positioning accuracy was also better solved.Finally,the results shows that the study of the machine vision system improves the adaptability of robot automatic assembly system to a large extent.
