Large vertical volute pump has the characteristics of high head and large flow.It is an important pump type of centrifugal pump widely applied in engineering.The large pump 1000SL-23 in this paper is a large-scale water conservancy project based on the utilization of water resources in the Nile River Basin in Republic of the Sudan.This pump is the first large vertical medium open volute pump in China,and its vibration,noise and temperature rise are all the first-class level in China.Based on the fact that human beings have not fully grasps the characteristics of the fluid transported by the pump at present,and there is little research on the performance of large pumps at home and abroad,for large pumps,the real machine test can not only achieve strong practical significance for the real performance,but also it can avoid greater error due to the conversion of the model.In this paper,the experimental research on the real machine performance of the large vertical volute pump is carried out to obtain the external characteristics of the pump in an actual engineering project,and analyze the important source of the error:the random error of the flow.The main contents of the paper include three parts:1)Based on the characteristics of this pump and the requirements of the test's layout,to look out the principle and applicable environment of each measuring instrument,they then determined the appropriate test specifications.Secondly,according to the regulations of GB/T3216-2005,the arrangement of the device is arranged and the related arrangement is properly adjusted so that the performance test of the large pump can be carried out safely and reliably.2)The three ordinate functions of MATLAB are used to fit the main performance parameters curve,and the cross method is used to determine that the head satisfied the value 22.82m and the efficiency is above 86%respectively in the three performance test.3)After making clear the principle of error distribution,the analysis of the flow random error is the key parameter of the error analysis.According to the error generated by the data acquisition mode of the 5 typical combinations,the final 9 values of the 9 repeated readings are collected,which acquired the total error of the efficiency of ±1.04%and reached the 2 level standard of the test precision.It can be concluded that this is the best way of data acquisition.The consequence of the analysis provides a reliable basis for the design and manufacture of water pump and related systems.It has a certain engineering significance in the production,learning and research.
