Bionic sculpture belongs to the category of bionic architecture(buildings and structures)in a broad sense and its theoretical basis is architectural bionics.In recent years,Large-scale bionic sculptures have gradually come into sight and gradually become a beautiful landscape in the city,which have a great development prospects.For a long time,Large-scale bionic sculpture lacked specific methods to guide Force Analysis,Structural Performance Evaluation and Design Optimization Methods.It is difficult to adapt to the trend of large-scale and complicated bionic sculptures.This article aims at this problem in the actual project of "Flying Birds" bionic sculpture which constructed by steel as the object and analyzes its static,stability and dynamic performance.Based on the analysis results to systematically summarize the structural design and evaluation methods.The main contents are as follows:1.The research summarizes the research and application status of "Morphological Bionics" and "Structural Bionics" in the field of sculpture,which emphatically introduced the application of morphology bionics and structural bionics in the field of sculpture.Aiming at the low precision and high cost of traditional manual modeling of bionic sculpture,a fast geometric modeling method based on 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning technology is proposed.2.Formulating the specific and reasonable performance(strength,displacement,stability)control indexes for bionic sculptures.Using the performance control indexes to establish the set of "performance target" control systems for bionic sculpture,which can ensure the safety,applicability and durability of bionic sculptures roundly.3.Using the finite element analysis software Midas Gen to analyze the key mechanical properties(Static,stability,dynamic performance,etc.)and combined with the "Technical Specification for public Sculpture project construction" to evaluate the safety performance of the "Flying Birds" bionic sculpture.The results show that the strength of each member of the bionic sculpture meets the requirements,the structural deformation is small,the overall stability and dynamic performance are good.4.Presented five levels of optimization design for bionic sculpture structure and based on key parameters to optimize the structure of large-scale bionic sculpture.When the optimization effect is not obvious,the“Morphological Bionics" design scheme has been adjusted for preserving the mechanical logic of the large-scale bionic sculpture.5.Taking into account factors such as structural analysis methods,“performance target" control systems and structural optimization processes to establish a comprehensive set of design methods suitable for large-scale bionic sculptures,which can provide theoretical support and method guidance for the design of similar bionic engineering.Finally,Summarizing the research in this article,looking forward to the development trend of bionic sculpture and pointing out the problems that still exist in this area.
