Floor slabs play an important role in resisting lateral force for a structural system. When the floor slab deform in its in-plane directions, its effects on the structural behaviormay not be ignored, especially on condition that the shear walls are placed in the perimeter of the structure. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of the elastic and inelastic deformation of the floor slab on the seismic behavior of frame-shear wall structures. And determine the quantitative index to distinguish the floor deformation characteristics. The main works included in the study are summerized as follows:(1)Twenty-four frame-shear wall structures were designed by using PKPM software. The design parameters include the number of storey, plane aspect ratio, live load values, and seismic intensity. Then the above twenty-four structures were established in the finite element software ETABS.By comparing the elastic results between PKPM and ETABS,the consistency between the design model and the finite element model was confirmed. The accuracy and rationality of the finite element model were verified by comparing the predictions of the finite element models with existing test data of reinforced concrete shear walls, frames and frame beams.(2)The above twenty-four frame-shear wall structural models were analyzed by linear and nonlinear dynamic time history analysis method.Three types of diaphragm were considered in each model. They were rigid diaphragm, elastic diaphragm, and inelastic diaphragm.According to the seismic response spectrum, nine seismic records were selected. The analysis results were taken as the average of the nine results obtained from the nine seismic records.By comparing the seismic responses of the models with three types of floor slabs, the effect of design parameters, such as the aspect ratio, number of storey, seismic intensity, and live load value,on the seismic performance of the structure is studied.(3)Based on the results of the time-history analysis,a simplified formula for evaluating the influence of diaphragm deformation on the internal forces of the frame-shear wall structures was obtained through regression analysis. And determine the quantitative index to distinguish the floor deformation characteristics,This provides a reference for the seismic design of the frame-shear wall structure considering the diaphragm deformation.
