Research On The Strategic Development Of Passenger Vehicle Multimodal Transport In FAW

Multimodal transport is the transportation that performed with at least two different means of transport,its main feature is the freedom to choose transport equipment between different modes of transport,in order to achieve the process of goods transport in the most reasonable and effective way.As an intensive and efficient modern transport organization model,multimodal transport is the first choice of modern logistics strategy.Auto industry is an important pillar industry in our country.Multimodal transport of passenger vehicle is a key project of national multimodal transport demonstration project.The development of multimodal transport would be a great benefit for the development of the logistics industry.It increases the optional transport options for logistics systems,so that the costs can be minimized and service quality can be improved.During the writing process,a large number of domestic and foreign relevant literature were checked,and the research progress and industry development have been partially understood.Through the in-depth investigation of the vehicle logistics and the development of multimodal transport of the six major auto giants such as FAW Group,SAIC,Dongfeng Group,Chang’an Group,BAIC Group and GAC Group,detailed real data that provide the basis for the research have been obtained.Based on the characteristics,influencing factors,logistics mode and operation flow of the vehicle logistics in our country,this paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the multimodal transport,including policies,laws and regulations,standards,technology,supporting facilities and equipment,organization and management level and linkage system.Using PEST and SWOT strategic analysis methods,this paper carry on the detailed analysis to the external environment,internal environment and strategic environment of passenger vehicle multimodal logistics in the FAW Logistics Company,carry on comprehensive analysis to the current situation of the vehicle logistics industry,strategic opportunities,development trends,the situation of major competitors and the FAW Logistics Company’s strategic resources,strength endowments,work base,opportunities and challenges.These analyses would lay the foundation for the rational planning of passenger vehicle’s multimodal logistics strategy in FAW Group.Through the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the internal environment and the opportunities and threats of the external environment of the company,according to the directness,urgency,importance and impact of the development,the SWOT matrix for FAW Logistics Company is constructed.From the point of view of taking advantage,overcoming disadvantages,taking advantage of opportunities and resolving threats,using a comprehensive system analysis method,based on both the current and long-term,the FAW Group’s alternative strategies of passenger vehicle logistics are designed,and a selection is made.Objectives,principles and requirements of the strategic planning are determined.The optimization strategy for passenger vehicle’s multimodal logistics mode in FAW Group is formulated,and the logistics corridor mode of "Trunk line transportation + distribution center + terminal distribution" is planned.Multimodal development strategy based on logistics information system integration+ combination strategy and the construction of multimodal transport standardization platform is constructed,the logistics department functions are straightened,and the organizational structure of FAW Logistics Company is reconstructed.Safeguard measures of the FAW Group’s passenger vehicle logistics development strategy are put forward.Execution and implementation of the strategic planning are fully guaranteed from aspects of organizational structure,system and human resources,technology and funds.
