With the rapid development of science and technology and the increasingly prosperous economy,the demand for automobiles market has also witnessed a thriving scene in recent years.As an important part of the engine,the timing silent chain system plays a crucial role in a series of key technical indicators such as the engine's power performance,emission indicators,vibration and noise.At the same time,wear and rotation fatigue characteristics of the chain are the core elements of the entire timing silent chain system.Therefore,the experiment study on the wear and rotation fatigue characteristics of timing silent chain is needed.So far,most of the experiment of wear characteristics are about 100 hours,which infers whether it can meet the requirements.The time of the experience of wear characteristics reached 305 hours,which gived more accurate and complete data in this study.Then we concluded that the corresponding full-cycle wear elongation is only 0.111 percent by analying the data.In order to explore the wear mechanism of the chain further,we analyzed the micro-topography of the worn surface of the link plate and got the wear process of the new chain.We founded that there were small particles and adhered to each other on the surfaces of the chain plate,and the surface layer fractured during the continuous friction.We confirmed that the main wear mechanism of the timing silent chain was fatigue wear.Then adhesion and anti-adhesion were found by analyzing the worn metal surface composition.This phenomenon proved that it also had slight adhesive wear.We did the engine bench test provided by the cooperative company to calculate the infinite fatigue life load corresponding to different speeds further.We concluded that the wear performance of the silent timing chain met the life requirements by analyzing the timing chain system and the fatigue life of rigid-flexible coupling.Finally,the rotary fatigue performance of the rotary fatigue test bench is verified again.Through the microscopic analysis of the fracture of the chain,we observed that there was a bright dimple in the fracture,and the fracture form of the chain was determined as ductile fracture,and the metallurgical state of the chain material was determined to meet the corresponding fatigue requirements.To the greatest extent,the life-span wear-resistance study restored its wear process,and it provided the data basis for exploring the wear principle of the chain.In the research,the engine pedestal test and the rigid-flexible coupling analysis were used to obtain the fatigue load,which was analyzed and verified through the slewing fatigue test further.It provided an effective method for chain enterprises to study the characteristics of rotary fatigue.
