In fuel power system,fuel pump is an indispensable functional component.With the development of fuel pump technology,the application fields are becoming more and more extensive,and the fuel oil pump also has higher performance requirements with increasing market demands.However,the traditional fuel pump is difficult to combine high efficiency,high pressure,high power density and high reliability,not to mention the application of harsh conditions.Based on the principle of 2D piston pump,this paper presents a new type of heavy-duty 2D fuel pump for ships.The main research work and results are as follows:(1)The structure principle of the heavy-duty two-dimensional(2D)fuel pump was analyzed.Against the original 2D dual fuel pump's short life and low duty,this paper puts forward a new transmission scheme that the rollers are fixed and the cam parts are moving,which can greatly improve the service life and bearing strength.Its overall structure was determined,and the three-dimensional model was established.The main components' stress was analyzed and strength was checked,through the finite element analyses,to determine its reliability.Finally the unreasonable structures were modified,and the overall structure scheme was determined.(2)The heavy-duty 2D fuel pump rollers' support mode was analyzed.In the analysis of the structural characteristics of the 2D fuel pump,its size is limited by the rollers,and the bearing size directly restricts its miniaturation.Therefore,the supporting mode of rollers was analyzed,and rolling bearings were replaced by sliding bearings to reduce its size.The structure layout and performance of the sliding bearings were analyzed by using Fluent software.It can provide some reference for future experiments.(3)The heavy-duty 2D fuel pump's cam guide was designed.The shape of the cam directly determines the pump's moving characteristics,performance and life.So the moving regularity of the cams were analyzed and the cam guide was designed precisely.The cavitation characteristics and the efficiency of the fuel pump were analyzed.And conclusions were drawn through the analysis and research.The heavy-duty 2D fuel pump designed has the characteristics of low cavitation,low energy pulsation,high efficiency and low volume weight.(4)Modeling and simulation of the heavy-duty 2D fuel pump was carried out.The AMESim software was used to simulate the flow pulse and leakage of single pump at different speeds.On this basis,its no-load characteristics were analyzed,and the possibility of eliminating the flow pulsation was verified.Its load characteristics were also analyzed.The simulation results show the advantages of the pump performance and the correctness and rationality of the design theory.(5)Experimental studies on 2D fuel pump were carried on,including running test,characteristic test.The experimental results verify the correctness and rationality of the design theory and the performance of the pump.The heavy-duty 2D fuel pump is a innovation particularly in light quantification comparing to the traditional ones,and opens a new way for the design of hydraulic pumps.It will be applied widely in ships,aerospace,heavy machinery and so on.
